The Office of Public Insurance Counsel (OPIC) represents the interests of Texas consumers in insurance matters. OPIC empowers and educates consumers and works on their behalf to create and maintain a balanced marketplace. OPIC achieves this goal by taking action on regulatory matters pending before the Texas Department of Insurance related to insurance rates, forms, and rules. OPIC also engages in consumer education and outreach, and serves as a resource to the Texas Legislature.
