The OVSOM was renamed the Texas Civil Commitment Office by SB 746 84th Session.

The Texas Civil Commitment Office is responsible for providing monitoring and treatment of civilly committed sexually violent predators under Health & Safety Code, Chapter 841. The TCCO’s mission is to enhance public safety by developing and implementing strategic management policies to protect the citizens of Texas and enhance protection of victims and potential victims through research based management of sexually violent predators and sex offenders
