Personal Information

Judge Wallace obtained his B.S. degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1966, and his J.D. degree in 1973 from Baylor University School of Law. He served two years as an attorney with the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and 8½ years as an Assistant U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas in Fort Worth. Judge Wallace joined the law firm of Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, L.L.P., in 1984, where his practice concentrated in the areas of commercial litigation and professional liability defense. He is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of civil trial law.

Professional honors that Judge Wallace has received include induction as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2002, and he was named in the “Best Lawyers in America” and “Texas Super Lawyers” for a number of years prior to assuming the bench.

He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to fill the vacancy in the 96th District Court and assumed the bench on December 1, 2010.
