Former Texas U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Heath/Rockwall), was confirmed as the country’s new Director of National Intelligence on May 21, 2020.

The Washington, DC, office and the district offices of former Representative John Ratcliffe will continue to serve the people of the Fourth Congressional District of Texas under the supervision of the Clerk of the House of Representatives. Representative Ratcliffe resigned from the 116th Congress on May 22, 2020.

The governor has announced he will not call a special election. Candidates will face off in the November election.
