Personal Information

Waldrip is the criminal district attorney of Comal County. He previously served as assistant commander and attorney of the 81st Judicial District Narcotics Task Force and staff counsel to the Eighth Court of Appeals in El Paso. His past appointments include a place on the Texas Violent Gang Task Force under Gov. Perry, and he was named Comal County’s first criminal district attorney by Gov. Bush. Waldrip is board certified as a criminal law specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and as a criminal trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He previously served on the board of directors and as a committee chair of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce. He was also the founding president of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Comal County. Presently, Waldrip is on the board of directors for the Comal County Junior Livestock Show Association and Young Life River Counties.

Waldrip received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from St. Mary’s University.
