Johnson is owner of Patti Kaykes Enterprises. She is a member of the 100 Club of Comal County Board of Directors, and a past member of the State Board for Educator Certification. She is also a member of the Comal County Citizen Sheriff's Alumni Academy and co-chair of the Law Enforcement Week Committee, and chair of the Annual Canyon Lake 9/11 Freedom Walk. Johnson received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Reappointed 9/2011
