Notes
The board adopts rules and regulations to license and regulate the qualifications and performance of marriage and family therapists in Texas.
House Bill 1501, which was signed into law by Governor Abbott on 6/10/2019, created the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and to the continuation and transfer of the regulation of psychologists, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and social workers to the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). BHEC includes four member boards: the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Texas State Board of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and the Texas State.
