Personal Information

Roy C. Brooks, Tarrant County Commissioner, has had a long Public Service career, for 14 years he served as Precinct Administrator for Tarrant County, Precinct One, he served three terms (six years) on the City Council for the City of Forest Hill. Two of those three terms he served as Mayor Pro Tem. Additionally, he has always been an active volunteer for numerous non-profit service organizations.

Commissioner Brooks is Past President of the National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO), which represents both Elected and Appointed County Officials across America. He is also Past President of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County Minority Leaders and Citizens Council. His leadership led this organization to create the African American Immunization Coalition and the African American AIDS Summit. Commissioner Brooks served as President of the AIDS Outreach Center, Tarrant County’s largest AIDS service organization and, actively served on the Board of Directors of the Community Hospice of North Texas. Though Commissioner Brooks has a demanding work schedule which requires him to often be present in Austin and Washington D.C., he continues to serve on boards of many community organizations.
