Mary Kate “Suzy” Weems of Waco is a professor, chair of the Baylor University Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, and a board certified sports dietitian. She is a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, American Dietetic Association, American Diabetes Association, Institute of Food Technologists and the American Association for School Nutrition. She is also a media representative and past president of the Texas Dietetic Association, past chair of the American Dietetic Association Legislative and Public Policy Committee, and a member of the Texas Association for School Nutrition, Texas State Nutrition Council, and East Texas Dietetic Association. Weems received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, a master’s degree in home economics and a doctorate of philosophy with a specialization in foods and nutrition from Texas Tech University.
