COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS AND AWARDS
* Send-A-Kid-To-Camp
The program sends hundreds of at risk youth to free camps during the summer months and raised over $500,000 in private donations and in-kind services during a five-year period. Founded the Send-A-Kid-To-Camp Permanent Endowment Fund through the Communities Foundation of Texas.
* Forestridge Elementary School PTA (RISD) - President - developed the programs, which received the following awards:
o “President’s Reading/Literacy Award” – National PTA
This award is one of only two national awards given annually by the National PTA. It is presented to the PTA, which develops the most outstanding reading and literacy program in the nation.
o “Advocates For Children Award” – Texas PTA
The recipient is widely recognized as the “Best PTA in Texas”. The award is given to the PTA, which develops the most exemplary programs for youth.
