Heldenfels is president and CEO of Heldenfels Enterprises Inc. He is a member of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Board, Associated General Contractors of Texas, and Texas A&M University (TAMU) System Chancellor’s Century Council, and a member and past chairman of the TAMU Twelfth Man Foundation. He is also a member of the TAMU Association of Former Students Century Club and TAMU–Corpus Christi President’s Council, past chairman of the TAMU Corpus Christi Foundation Board of Trustees, alumnus and past director of the Texas Lyceum Association, past board member of the San Marcos Economic Development Board, and past chair of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. Heldenfels received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
