Ravi Singhania was first elected to the Port Commission in 2007 and is currently serving his second term. He retired in 2005 from BASF Corporation as Senior Vice President; during his 37+ year career he also served as the General Manager of the Freeport, Texas site.
Singhania holds a masterís degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois, PhD work at the University of Houston and Executive Business Management Program at Rice University.
Singhania has extensive involvement in community and educational organizations which include the Brazosport Rotary Club, Brazosport College Board of Regents, University of Texas and Texas A&M Chemical Engineering Advisory Council, Past Chair of Texas Chemical Council, Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, Brazoria County Petrochemical Producers Council, Safety Town, Project Teach, Walks for Habitat, Board of the Community Foundation of Brazoria County, Brazosport College Foundation Board, University of Houston Engineering Leadership Board, Junior Achievement and CHI St. Luke Brazosport Regional Hospital System.
