Judge Rodney W. Satterwhite of the 441st Judicial District Court will not seek re-election after his term expires in December 2018. Satterwhite, who has served as a district judge for eight years, said the position has been rewarding.
ďIíve always liked trying lawsuits, and I didnít get out of that when I got on the bench,Ē Satterwhite said. ďIím still trying lawsuits. Iím just on the other side of the bench, and Iím very glad that I get to participateÖ.Ē
Former Gov. Rick Perry appointed Satterwhite to the role in 2009 after Texas legislators created the 441st District Court. He later ran unopposed in 2010 and 2014.

Rodney Satterwhite of Midland is judge of the 441st Judicial District Court of Midland County. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Midland County Bar Association, and International and Texas associations of Defense Counsel. He has life member status as a Texas commissioner for the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. He is a past director of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, past president of the Midland County Young Lawyers, and a past member of the University of Texas Chancellors Council Executive Committee. He is also a past community advisor for the Junior League of Midland, past campaign chairman for the Midland American Cancer Society, and past director of the United Way of Midland. He served in the U.S. Army. Satterwhite received a bachelor's degree and law degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
