Personal Information

Matthew A. Russell was appointed to the Texas State University System Board of Regents by Governor Rick Perry on May 6, 2013. Russell’s one-year term began June 1, 2013, and will expire May 31, 2014.

A native of Brenham, Texas, Russell graduated from Blinn College with an associate degree in business administration. Following his graduation, he then transferred to Texas State University, where he is currently pursuing his bachelors in public administration.

Russell has worked for Brenham Real Estate and served in the 82nd and 83rd legislative sessions for State Representative Lois Kolkhorst of Brenham and State Representative Stephanie Klick of Fort Worth. He has also served in successful primary and general election campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives and the Texas State Board of Education.
