Dr. Carl Menckhoff has lived in Lakewood Village with his wife and 2 children since July of 2009. He was born in New York, but grew up in multiple countries before returning to the U.S.A. for college. He obtained his medical degree from George Washington University medical school in 1994. He then completed his emergency medicine residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1997 before joining the faculty at UTSW Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was assistant residency director until 2000. He then spent nine years at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA where he was associate residency director, then residency director, before moving back to Dallas in 2009. He was the Medical Director and Chairman of the Emergency Department at Medical Center of Lewisville from 2009-2014. He is now Area Medical Director for First Choice Emergency Rooms. Dr. Menckhoff also serves on the board of directors of PediPlace (a non-profit pediatric clinic). Dr. Menckhoff ran for, and was elected to, Town Council in May of 2010 because he wanted to contribute to the betterment of his community.
