Personal Information

A 19-year resident of Coppell, Mayor Doug Stover was first elected to the city council in May of 1998. In May of 2003, Mr. Stover was elected as Mayor, and re-elected to a second mayoral term in May 2006. After having served in city government for 11 years, he left office; but he subsequently returned in November 2010 to fill the unexpired term created by a mayoral vacancy. A graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving, Stover holds a finance degree from Texas Tech University. He currently serves as Director of Human Resources at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Mayor Stover has been an active volunteer in many capacities in our city and the region for many years and has received numerous local, regional, and national volunteer awards. He is a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell. Mr. Stover’s family includes his wife of 29 years, Lee, their son Blake and daughter-in-law Jessica, son Andrew, and daughter LeeAnn.
