John Hoss Commissioner, Precinct 1
Elected to the Port Commission in 2011, John Hoss is a native of Freeport, and has spent his entire life in and around the maritime industry.

His family has been a part of the local maritime industry since 1957 making him a second-generation marine business owner in Freeport. Since 1997, he has been a principle in Freeport Launch, LP delivering supplies to ships in the region and servicing the offshore oil and seismic industries in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hoss is a graduate of Brazosport High School and Oklahoma State University, holding an Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering. While working as faculty, he pursued advanced studies in Environmental Engineering and Data Management.
