Personal Information
Thomas Wingate of Mission is an attorney in private practice and former judge of the 430th Judicial District Court in Hidalgo County. He is a board certified specialist in commercial and residential real estate law by the State Bar of Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and a member of the State Bar of Texas, U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and U.S. Court of Military Appeals. He is also past president of the Sharyland Independent School District Board of Trustees and Education Foundation, and past chairman of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Workforce Development Board and McAllen Chamber of Commerce. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate Generals Corps, and retired from the Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel after 28 years of active and reserve service. Wingate received a bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
