Personal Information

John Gibbs serves as the office’s policy director. He became a part of Lt. Gov. Patrick’s team in 2015 as policy coordinator, later promoted to his current role in 2017. Gibbs has extensive legislative experience, starting his career in 2001 as a White House intern. He joined the Texas House of Representatives in 2006, the Texas Senate in 20018, served as then-Sen. Patrick’s chief of staff and was a member of both the Texas Council on Competitive Government and Texas Interagency Data Transparency Commission. Gibbs has a Master of Public Relations from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government from UT Austin.
