Personal Information

Brigadier General Monie R. Ulis of Austin has served the Texas Army National Guard for 35 years, and currently serves as the Director of Joint Staff at Camp Mabry. He previously served as Deputy Chief Military Personnel Policy and Deputy Personnel Chief of the National Guard Bureau. Additionally, he served as Commander of the 136th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, responsible for the FEMA Region VI Homeland Response Force Mission. He is past president of the National Guard Association of Texas and a member of the National Guard Association of the United States, the National War College Association, and the Infantry Officer Association. BG Ulis received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of the State of New York, a Master of Science in Information Technology from Touro University, and was awarded a Master of National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington, D.C.
