Personal Information

Commissioner Allen attended Amber University, the Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute School of Police Supervision and graduated from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Academy in 1974. Until 1979, Allen served as Deputy of the Dallas County Sheriff's Department before serving as Lieutenant of the Mesquite Police Department and retiring in 2009. Throughout his 35 years of law enforcement, Allen served as a Criminal Investigations Division detective, and as sergeant and lieutenant, he lead the Family Support Team of the Mesquite Police Department.
