Personal Information

Bill Harris graduated from University of Texas, Austin in 1959 and received his law degree from University of Texas, Austin, in 1962.

He began practicing law with the Carroll Sullivant Law Firm in 1962, and ran the firm from 1966 to May 1983. From 1965 to 1980, Bill served as City Attorney for the City of Gainesville.

Bill was elected as Cooke County Judge and served in that capacity from January 1999 through December 2001.

In December 2001, he began service as Judge of County Court at Law, Cooke County, Texas, serving in that capacity through December 2002.

Bill has been a partner in the Law Firm of Hatcher, Harris & Tatum, P.C. from January, 2003
to present

He was appointed City Attorney in May, 2003
