7/1/25: Former Texas State Representative Kyle Kacal was appointed interim Brazos County Judge as Judge Duane Peters recovers from a health issue.

County officials did confirm Judge Kacal’s time as county judge will end either when Judge Peters’ term ends or when Judge Peters decides to return, whichever comes first.
