Personal Information
Ballabina began her career in 1994 with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension as a county agent, then advanced through roles including regional program director, associate director for program development, executive associate director, and eventually deputy vice chancellor and chief operating officer for AgriLife.
In 2021, then‑President Katherine Banks brought her into the president’s office as vice president for academic and strategic partnerships, where she worked on university‑wide initiatives and external collaborations. Regents later elevated her into system leadership, first as deputy vice chancellor and then as executive vice chancellor.
Ballabina will be the third Texas A&M president since 2020. She takes the helm at a campus still dealing with the fallout from multiple leadership crises.
