Oliver J. Bell was appointed to the Commission by Governor Greg Abbott on November 15, 2018 for a term that will expire February 1, 2023. Mr. Bell is the CEO of Oliver Bell, Inc., a labor relations consulting firm that emphasizes teaching and developing leadership skills. He is also the founder of the Texas Labor and Employee Relations Consortium. Prior to founding his firm, he served as vice president of a consulting firm and preceding that, worked for Mobil Oil’s human resources group. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment Association, and the Association of the United States Army. He is a member of the West Point Society of greater Houston and past member of the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity -The Boulé. He served on the Texas Southern University Board of Regents, is a former gubernatorial appointee and chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, and the former chairman of the Windham School District Board of Trustees. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was an Airborne-Ranger qualified Army officer. Reappointed 3/22/23.
